I had been visiting the chu shing since I was a young man, I had tried everything from tripe and chicken feet, to sung sa gow and shrimp su mi. I had always enjoyed the busy hubbub or the place and enjoyed the people watching. for the last eight years My finance and I had been weekend regulars. to the point of knowing the staff and participating in Chinese new year. well after twenty years of eating there it all changed when they served me bug laced peanut dumplings. now I must admit the bugs were very well cooked but not exactly what I ordered.
So feeling sickened to my stomach. I called for Renee who is the manager. She told me that the cook must not have seen the bugs in the food as it was dark in the kitchen. she then told us we wouldn't have to pay for that dish and also gave us a three dollar discount on the meal. we left the restaurant and will never return. I miss the wait staff, but fell my health is more important. I will never eat at this place again there is a much better place on south bank street with a window into the kitchen that has buch better food.
its not so much the bugs in the food as the attitude of the manager who simply wasn't shocked or apologetic a bout serving bugs.

If you like bugs in your food this is the place to go.
My girlfreind and I have been very good costomers over the years but never again.
we were served a dish with two rather large steamed bugs in it.
Upon questioning the manager we were told that it is dark in the kitchen and the chef did not see them.
I will never eat there again and would sugest the same for you.

went to Chu Shing for dinner yesterday. the steam whole pickeral with a touch of soya source is very tasty and good ideal for only 10.99. too bad the lobster special is now gone. reasonable price and reasonable food.

Very poor! Had a curry squeed dish for dim sum which had sands in it. lots of them! I complained to the waitress who denied there was a problem. I reported the matter to the health department. Some waitresses are very rude. Once i asked for a bowl of rice and she said don't worry and started rambling on in Chinese with another waitress.

Fast service. Good authentic dishes.
