We went there on a Saturday evening. The service was great until the restaurant was full. All of us agreed the tempura was the best we had in Ottawa but the rice of the sushi was not cooked properly. Or the chef was not using the proper type of rice.

One of the best sushi places in Ottawa. Sweet potato maki is my favouite. I can eat the tempura banana dessert every day. Yuymmy food.

It was my first time to try out the delicious fruit salad sushi! The strawberry color with grapefruit colour together just make the sushi cubes look so good. I will be back for more. Great time, great food, and great services.

We went to Genji for dinner on Monday night based on our friend's recommendation. We were the first two arriving at the restaurant. My girl friend wanted me to leave and choose another one since she was not confident about going to a restaurant without customers. I insisted to go in anyway (didn't like to drive and park again). After trying out the first bite of sweet potato maki, both of us smiled at each other. The sushi was outstanding! Monday night must not be a busy night. Few customers came in later. But the food is a treat to us. We will be back again to try out other food in the menu!

I just want to tell you folks reading this that if you haven't been to Genji Japanese restaurant in downtown Ottawa, you are missing a lot!! The food presentation just reminds me of the food I ate at Princess cuisine ship.

I have been looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Ottawa after my return to Ottawa from Japan. I tried Genji Japanese restaurant last Friday. I am so happy that I have found one. Your sushi presentation is excellent. It is an art work! The black cod teriyaki is the best I have eaten in Ottawa. I just wanted to convey my appreciation that I enjoyed the food very much. Keep up the good work! I will be back and see ya soon!

We went to Genji on our Valentine day. The dinner was delicious. We had a great time! Thanks for the rose for my wife. Will be back for sure.

Just wanted to tell Genji folks that I am your loyal customer since your grand opening. I come to your restaurant every week (the one who already wears the cap). I tried your beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and black cod teriyai so far. I like them all. Good food with beer is a treat for me after a busy day of work.

I work at 160 Elgin and didn't detect this Japanese restaurant so close to my office. I had lunch last week and enjoyed the lunch very much. I brought my family to Genji last Saturday for dinner. My daughter wanted chicken tempura which is not on the menu. The chef had it made for my daugther. She was so happy. Thanks to the chef who made the chicken tempura for my daughter. She was very happy.

Great shrimp tempura! The tea is very nice to go with the food. The noodle is excellent. The banana ice-cream is fantastic.
